What Reach Out For Mental Health Do...

Reach Out For Mental Health provide a drop-in service at the South Ockendon Hub, Derry Avenue, every Thursday from 10.30am - 12.30pm. The non-clinical service is run by fully trained volunteers who are friendly, good listeners, and completely non-judgmental. The team offer individuals a space to talk with someone about how they are feeling and an opportunity to reflect on and consider the circumstances which may be contributing to their situation.

What happens at a drop in?

Volunteers appreciate how it may be difficult to talk to those closest to you or even to admit to yourself how you're feeling. Maybe you're not sure why you've suddenly hit a wall. Whatever the reason Reach Out For Mental Health provides an opportunity for you to talk in confidence to a volunteer about your situation and how you're feeling - maybe for the first time.

Can i just turn up?

Yes. You don't need to book an appointment, just turn up on the door. However if you did want to chat to someone first you can always give the team a call on 07898 220 384. Unfortunately the team are unable to provide support to anyone under the age of 18.
